The advice from most of you yesterday was to let the situation boil over. After much thought on this, I couldn't live with this transgression and the possibility Zeter would forever think I had tried to lure him in or seduce him on that fateful day.
The following message was recently sent via facebook (from me):
"friday was not a date but just a friendly catch-up. sorry if i have been misleading in any way... so this has been sufficiently awkward. gl with uni :)"
Did I handle it well? I don't really care. This fiasco ends here. It must.

I wouldn't have used a smiley face or acknowledged about you being misleading, because you weren't, he just got it confused. Coz boys are silly. But I would have sent a message, too.
Dw, I'll get some European boys for you ;)

yeah. it was either this pseudo-friendly message or one full of aggression (i formed one in my head involving phrases such as "you are a fucking idiot" and "please kindly fuck off, i never want to talk to you again") but i was told aggression was bad and could be damaging to the sanctity of peace. but who knows.
i'm glad i sent a message. mostly because i am impatient and can't live with the whole "let it boil over" thing.
thx. looking forward to meeting jochem still. thx for leading us to the free sausages yesterday too.

Haha, that's ok.
I think that its good for closure? Like, otherwise he just has this false impression left on him, like you said. Kudos to you for doing it!

p.s. double kudos for taking the high road. I would have gone with the message full of aggression and fuck yous :P
good work.
i too would have gone with the fuck yas, thus eliminating any breezy-ness the message may have initially conveyed.
